9pm The poem was nice
Black men are NOT intimidated by Black women!
How is the Rand family any different from any other FAMILY in this country? As if black family reunions are a myth….
Why did it have to begin with a slave story? (again)
I wish black people would put the energy they use to find their white slave owners into finding the wealth they have inside themselves
Are these shows meant to HELP black folks or further alienate them from the rest of society? I feel I seen this show a hundred times...
9: 15 I’m bored
Smith Story was a bit more positive, but…
The Harvard Professor Roland is on to something, but I think HIS story is more interesting on his move up the ladder, we already know about the bad schools….not sure about paying kids to go, but I ain’t one to complain….
The Black Man show will be a deathwish…
930 What does getting kicked out of your apt have to do with being Black in America? It sounds like it got a lot to do with debt. That’s all.
Do they loop the police sirens for these type of shows?
The food segment is a good one, more should have been done on that, traveling an hour to buy a tomato in the 'hood?
Good mention of the black middle class...the segment is growing and virtually ignored
10:03 Ok, where the heck is MY segment?
Whoopi?
I look good! LOL
10:20 I do not feel single black women COMPETE with other women for men
It is not education and jail that is keeping black men and women apart, wrong again…is this 1989 all over again?
Hell no…LOL
Uh, somebody need to change that face they have on looking like “somethin' stank” before they question why they are single--loosen up, girl!
If you meet men who cant handle a car or a house, what does that say about YOU???
10:49 Phone keeps ringing….show dwindled down after the dating segment….but still watching
I thought the black man segment was tomorrow?
Okay, I’m officially confused…why did they include this black men shooting thing now? It was picking up some momentum and it just stopped. I feel like I’m watching the TLC channel.
So, Black Women can’t get their whole two hours?!
Wow, the focus is all gone now. I’m sure the ratings dipped by now….why tack this bit on? It feels superficial….

I just saw you on CNN online (an interview about your segment). I was intrigued with use of the phrase "black love." I have several biracial relatives from interracial relationships. A nephew and a niece from my sister's marriage. A grand nephew and niece from another nieces relationship (not married - he just can't seem to commit even though they have 2 kids and live together). And I have a 6 year old step daughter who is biracial. So are these children not products of black love. Is black love only when both parties are black?
By elevating "black love" over love and commitment, are we telling our children that their parents made a less than choice or even a mistake?
I, too, was confused about the ending of last night's special.
Bonnie, excellent question. No, is the answer to your questions. I was using the term "black love" to mean a collective experience.
